PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fold a sheet at a groove part and to easily open a sheet bundle because the sheet bundle is sewed by forming a sheet folding groove in the vicinity of a sewing part of each sheet.

SOLUTION: This sheet processing device 5 is structured to bind a sheet bundle by a stapler 257. A laser beam emitting device 320 forms the sheet folding groove in the vicinity of the sewing part of each sheet of the sheet bundle on the upstream side of the stapler 257. Each sheet of the sheet bundle is easily folded at the groove part.
