PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a composite image with high quality to obtain sufficient composite images. SOLUTION: An image pickup device is provided with an image composition part 134 for operating the projection transformation of the pixels of images to be synthesized into the coordinate system of a composition reference image by using a projection transformation matrix H when it is decided that the reliability of the projection transformation matrix H is high by an H decision part 133 of a video signal processing part 13, and synthesizing the images to be synthesized with the composition reference image by shifting the pixels of the images to be synthesized according to the composition reference image and the deviation value of the mutual low resolution images of the images to be synthesized calculated by global matching when it is decided that the reliability of the projection transformation matrix H is not high.
