PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sandbag for civil engineering, which hardly causes a breaking phenomenon due to the separation of fabrics from each other, by preventing the ultraviolet ray degradation of a sewing thread of a sewed part to the utmost. SOLUTION: In this sandbag A for civil engineering, a hanging belt 2 is sewed to a base fabric bag body 1, and the sewed part of the overlapping portion of the base fabric bag body 1 is covered with the hanging belt 2. More specifically, the base fabric bag body 1 is cylindrically formed by sewing ends of one rectangular base fabric together in the state of making the ends overlap each other by a fixed width; the four hanging belts 2 are sewed to the periphery of the base fabric bag body in the state of rising from a bottom; and the sewed part of the overlapping portion is covered with one of the hanging belts 2.
