PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjuvant composition suitable for use in vaccines. SOLUTION: Especially, the adjuvant composition of the invention contains saponin and an immunostimulatoty oligonucleotide, optionally with a carrier. The invention also provides vaccines containing the adjuvants of the invention and an antigen. Furthermore, a method for producing the adjuvants and the vaccines of the invention and their use as pharmaceuticals are provided.
