PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce possibility of reaching a situation where emergency contact between the inside of a car of an elevator and the outside can not be established in emergency. SOLUTION: An information transmission device 31 of an elevator includes an earthquake sensor 13, an elevator controller 1, a transceiver 7, a selection switch 8 and a telephone 14. The earthquake sensor 13 senses an earthquake having occurred in an installation location of a car 6 of the elevator, and generates an earthquake occurrence signal. The elevator controller 1 generates a communication route establishment command signal after receiving the earthquake occurrence signal. The selection switch 8 repeatedly tries connection to the transceiver 7 by selecting one of access points 30 of a communication network 23 with this remote monitoring device 32 connected thereto until a communication route to the remote monitoring device 33 having a telephone 24 is established when receiving the communication route establishment command signal.
