<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the number of devices, each of which receives stream data even when a device which relays a stream is connected in stream data transmission on a copyright protected bus. <P>SOLUTION: When performing authentication with a device of a relay destination, the device which relays a stream performs authentication for relay with a device of a relay source. The device of the relay source makes increment the number of devices, each of which receives the stream, based on the authentication. When stream transmission between the relaying device and the relay destination device is finished, the relaying device notifies the relay source device about the number of relay destination devices.
