PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method where the sticking of wax to a contact charging member is suppressed, further, the generation of an image defect caused by a charging defect is prevented, and image stability can be maintained, to provide a toner composition for electrostatic image developing, to provide an image forming apparatus, and to provide a process cartridge.

SOLUTION: In the image forming method comprising: an electrostatic latent image forming stage where an electrostatic latent image is formed on an electrostatic latent image holding body primarily charged by a contact charging system; a developing stage where a toner image is formed; a transferring stage where the toner image is transferred to a recording material directly or via an intermediate transferring body; and a fixing stage where the toner image transferred to the recording material is fixed to the recording material, a low softening point composition internally added to the toner comprises, as a resistance regulator(s), an ionic surfactant and/or electrically conductive particles, and the relation between the surface resistivity Rse[Ω] of the contact charging member and the volume resistivity Rvw[Ω cm] of the low softening point composition satisfies 0.8×10-1RseCOPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
