<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device that allows a voltage which has been outputted after being stepped up, to highly accurately follow a command value in a Z-source step-up circuit, and to provide an inverter device control method. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter device 1 is provided with the step-up circuit 4, which comprises a reactor, connected to a DC power supply, and a capacitor, and an inverter circuit 6 configured with a plurality of phases that has a plurality of switching elements and is connected to the output side of the step-up circuit. The inverter device is also provided with a short-circuit period calculation means, which calculates a command short-circuit period, showing the time length of a short-circuit period being a period that a switching element in any one phase of the inverter circuit is short-circuited by turning it ON, when a voltage is stepped up by the step-up circuit, on the basis of a command output voltage of the step-up circuit, and a short-circuit determining means that determines whether to permit a short-circuit operation of the inverter circuit, on the basis of the time length of the command short-circuit period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
