<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformalize brightness of a display panel over an entire face while achieving a low cost and low electric power by regarding a light source of a lighting device for a display device as irregular pitches and reducing the number of the light sources. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device for the display device includes a direct backlight juxtaposing and arranging a plurality of the light sources on the rear face side of the display panel, and a diffusion plate arranged between the display panel and the backlight. The backlight arranges the light sources of a center side of a juxtaposition direction at narrower pitches than the light sources of both sides. The diffusion plate makes the plate thickness of the center side of the juxtaposition direction larger than the plate thickness of both the sides. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
