<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminance in a reflective part in a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device has a liquid crystal display panel having a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal held between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal display panel has a plurality of sub-pixels, wherein the plurality of sub-pixels comprise at least three of, from first to third, transmissive sub-pixels and one reflective sub-pixel as one basic unit, and the first to the third transmissive sub-pixels and the reflective sub pixel are individually independently controlled and driven. The first transmissive sub-pixel displays a first color; the second transmissive sub-pixel displays a second color; the third transmissive sub-pixel displays a third color; and the reflective sub-pixel displays a white color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
