PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operation device generating reaction force to automatically adjust magnitude of the reaction force according to an individual user or various physical conditions of the user. SOLUTION: This pointer operation device having an operation member moving by operation of the user and an energizing device applying force to the operation member, and outputting a position signal according to a position of the operation member to a display controller determines correspondence relation between a position of a pointer on a display screen and the magnitude of the force applied to the operation member by the energizing device, and controls the energizing device such that the force of the magnitude corresponding to the present position of the pointer is applied on the basis of the correspondence relation. The pointer operation device records a history (a movement speed, a movement route) of movement of the position of the pointer, and changes the correspondence relation on the basis of the history.
