<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a code distribution amount of an extended re-encoding section. <P>SOLUTION: When a VBV occupation amount becomes less than a target value during encoding of a reference re-encoding section and an extended re-encoding is set, the buffer occupation amount at a VBV start point of the extended re-encoding section in encoding of an original stream (editing raw material) of the extended re-encoding section is expressed as V4, the VBV start point in the re-encoding, i.e. the buffer occupation amount at the end point of re-encoding of the section right before the longest re-encoding section is expressed as V1', and a VBV target point of a GOP as the extended re-encoding section is expressed as V2'. In such a case, encoding of a corresponding GOP of the original stream which corresponds to the extended re-encoding section has such an actual result that the buffer occupation amount varies from V4 to V2'. The encoding actual result is used to secure V4-V1' as a VBV increment and set code distribution. The present invention is applicable to a reproducing device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
