PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTC element which can enhance assembling precision while reducing a manufacturing cost and preventing poor assembling, and to provide a battery protection system for preventing the poor assembling of the PTC element and protecting a battery against an undue current. SOLUTION: The PTC element 2 comprises an element body 4 having a resistance increasing as a temperature rises in a predetermined temperature region, a pair of first and second electrode plates bonded to front and back sides of the element body 4. The second electrode plate is a clad plate 18 laminating two kinds or more of plate materials.
