PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic EL element without a defect or an unevenness by forming a film uniformly without an ink repellent phenomenon or the like in a manufacturing method of an organic EL element containing processes forming a hole transport layer 4 formed by transferring ink inside a pixel sectioned by barrier ribs 3 by letterpress printing. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an organic EL element includes at least a process of coating a photosensitive resin composition on a substrate, a process of forming a barrier rib pattern 3 with pattern exposure and developing, a process of making the barrier rib pattern 3 hydrophilic with light irradiated on it, and a process of forming a hole transport layer 4 by transferring ink in a region surrounded by the barrier ribs 3 by letterpress printing.
