PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester, by which the polyester having good electrostatic adhesiveness, little increasing the content of foreign matter, and having extremely highly clarity can stably be produced. SOLUTION: This method for continuously producing the polyester, comprising branching a plurality of transfer lines having stirring inline mixers set therein between reactors in a process for producing the polyester by a continuous polycondensation method, transferring a polyester intermediate with at least one of the branching lines, and adding an alkaline earth metal to the inline mixer set to the intermediate-flowing line, is characterized by dissolving the obtained polyester in a solvent, switching the passage for the polyester intermediate, when the amount of the alkaline earth metal in residues on a filter after the filtration of the solution with a membrane filter exceeds a prescribed amount, and simultaneously changing the addition of the alkaline earth metal compound to the inline mixer set in the switched passage to continue the continuous production.
