PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy housing of a medium, and superior versatility and durability, and to minimize effects of an external environment upon the medium. SOLUTION: A paper cassette 5 is composed of a cassette body 51 having a housing space capable of housing paper sheets in a stacked state, and a lid part 52 covering an opened upper part of the cassette body 51. The lid part 52 is composed of a lid body 61 with one side turnably joined to the cassette body 51, and a slide lid 62 engaged with an engagement piece of a printer during loading to a cassette loading part provided in the printer, and capable of sliding toward a loading direction rear side of the cassette loading part with respect to the lid body 51.
