PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for joining a member to a fuel tank capable of improving fuel permeation resistance at a section where other member is attached, a method for manufacturing the fuel tank constructing the structure for joining the member, and a method for joining the member to the fuel tank. SOLUTION: A joint part 20 where a fuel tank structure body 16 is joined is constructed around an insertion hole 36 of a ceiling 14T of a fuel tank main body 14. An annular flange part 40 is formed from a neck part 38 on the joint part 20 and an upper surface thereof is formed as a flat welding seat surface 30 on which a fuel tank component 32 is welded. A thin wall thickness part 52 which is locally thin is constructed by an inner projection part 46 of an insert ring 42 arranged outside of the neck part 38 is constructed on the flange part 40. Since a barrier material 58B of the fuel tank component 32 and a barrier layer 24A of the fuel tank structure body overlap in a view from upper part and actual permeation area of fuel is kept small, fuel permeation resistance is improved.
