<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assist system for further stably detecting a pedestrian when a vehicle is traveling at night. <P>SOLUTION: The driving assist system corrects a pickup image acquired by an image pickup means for imaging the periphery of a vehicle including a road according to the amounts of vibration of a vehicle (S103), and detects a road area equivalent to a road from the corrected pickup image (S104), and decides whether or not the detected pedestrian candidate is a pedestrian based on a positional relationship between a pedestrian candidate detected from the pickup image and the detected road area (S107, S108). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
