<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel electrode catalyst comprising oxidase high in electron transmission efficiency, and an enzyme electrode using it. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode catalyst comprises CueO and the enzyme electrode is equipped with a porous carbon body and the electrode catalyst comprising CueO supported on the surface of the porous carbon body. CueO is preferably CueO originating from a coli. The porous carbon body which constitutes the enzyme electrode is preferably a carbon gel.
