摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated phosphor having high efficiency and dispersibility for stabilizing characteristics and to provide a method for producing the coated phosphor and to provide a light-emitting device emitting good white luminescence using the coated phosphor. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a coated phosphor prepared by coating an europium-activated silicate represented by general formula (5): 2(M<SP>5</SP><SB>1-a</SB>Eu<SB>a</SB>)O-SiO<SB>2</SB>(wherein M<SP>5</SP>is at least one kind of element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; 0.005&le;a&le;0.10) with microparticles composed of at least one kind of compound selected from a group consisting of inorganic oxides and metal phosphates, and a method for producing the coated phosphor. The present invention further relates to a light emitting device having a luminous element composed of a gallium nitride-based semiconductor emitting primary light and a wavelength converting part containing the coated phosphor and absorbing the primary light and emitting secondary light having a peak wavelength not shorter than that of the primary light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
