<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oversampling circuit and an oversampling method, which generates data oversampled at a phase of equal intervals. <P>SOLUTION: When generating a multi-phase clock, the multi-phase clock is generated by using a delay section having different delay times without considering that the entire circuits are equivalent. Based on the above sampling data, the data oversampled at the phase of equal intervals are generated. Sampled digital data are used to detect the phase, and therefore, highly accurate phase detection is made in a small circuit scale.
