PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control retransmission without reducing throughput as far as possible by preventing packet errors or useless retransmission during packet communication between a base station and a wireless communication terminal. SOLUTION: The radio communication system is provided with a first error detection means which detects whether there are errors in a reception packet which is subjected to error correction processing after performing the error correction processing for the reception packet, a second error detection means which detects errors in the reception packet further subjected to error correction processing after the first error detection means, a second retransmission request means which requests for retransmission of the same packet as the reception packet to the sender according to the result of the second error correction, and a retransmission means which retransmits the same packet as the reception packet by the sender in response to the request.
