PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein in conventional methods in which music is classified to any of hierarchical structures, when another music is retrieved during the reproduction, temporarily, a reproduction screen is taken off, retrieving must be performed successively from an upper part of the hierarchical structure in a holder, and that it is inconvenient, as well as difficult to understand which hierarchical holder user himself is selecting. SOLUTION: In the retrieval method, music information displayed on a screen is selected arbitrarily, when any of the arbitrary music information is selected, the hierarchical holder to which the selected music information belongs is arbitrarily selected, the music information in the selected hierarchical holder is list-displayed on the screen.
