PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective technique for improving operability in adjusting a cutting depth of a planer blade of a portable planer. SOLUTION: The portable planer includes a planer main body 107, the planer blade 123, a front base 103 connected to the planer main body 107 relatively movably in the up-down direction, and a cutting depth-adjusting mechanism 131 adjusting a projection amount of the planer blade 123 from the lower surface of the front base by user's operation to change the position in the up-down direction relative to the planer main body 107. The cutting depth-adjusting mechanism 131 includes an operation member 133 rotated by hands, a cam member 135 rotating with the operation member 133, and a height converting part 137 changing a relative height of the front base 103 to the planer main body 107 based on an output of a cam lift amount by engagement with the cam member 135.
