KIMCHI REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME

A Kimchi refrigerator capable of converting a first storage mode to a second storage mode having the storage temperature lower than that of the first storage mode during the first storage mode is under way to increase the Kimchi taste is provided. A method of controlling the same also is provided to increase the taste and storage period of Kimchi and prevent the Kimchi from becoming sour quickly. A Kimchi refrigerator contains a cooling apparatus to cool the storage room receiving Kimchi and a control part to control the cooling apparatus to perform a second storage mode storing the Kimchi at a second storage temperature lower than a first storage temperature during the first storage mode storing the Kimchi at the first storage temperature is under way. The Kimchi refrigerator additionally contains an inlet part to receive the command for the user to convert the first storage mode to the second storage mode. The control of the Kimchi refrigerator is performed by the steps of: performing a fermentation mode fermenting Kimchi; performing the first storage mode storing the Kimchi at the first storage temperature; and performing the second storage mode. The control part controls the cooling apparatus to perform the cold impact operation cooling the Kimchi at the cold impact temperature which is lower than the first storage temperature or second storage temperature.
