An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce a time required for discharging a charge voltage by discharging rapidly the charge voltage of respective pixels. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a voltage detector(210), a timing controller(220), and a gate driver(240). The voltage detector detects the level of a source voltage supplied from outside. The timing controller controls the generation of a charging scan pulse or blocks the supplement of a data voltage according to the level of the source voltage detected in the voltage detector. The gate driver supplies the charging scan pulses or generates the discharging scan pulse under control of the timing controller.
