摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst electrode for a fuel cell which has a new composition to improve power generation efficiency and to reduce consumption of a platinum group catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst layer 9 of the catalyst electrode 8 for a fuel cell is composed of a lamination of Marimo (Cladophora Aegagrophila)-shaped carbon 10 carrying a platinum group catalyst. A nanocarbon material 7 of the Marimo-shaped carbon 10 grows into a ball shape with a diamond particle 6 as a core, and a gap 7a between the nanocarbon materials 7 has an optimal gap between catalyst carriers in which an electrode reaction speed of the catalyst layer 8 can be maximal, and moreover, a size of the platinum group catalyst 5 carried by the nanocarbon material 7 is of a nano size and the catalyst reaction speed is high. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
