PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coating composition for preventing the durability of a coating used to provide insulation for metallic components operating at elevated temperatures from being affected by engine operating conditions.

SOLUTION: The turbine engine component comprises a substrate (12), a bond coat (14) applied to a surface of the substrate (12), a first ceramic layer (16) having a cracked structure applied on top of the bond coat (14), and a second ceramic layer (18) having a cracked structure applied on top of the first ceramic layer (16).
