<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and computer for reducing the transmission time of the update data of the firmware of a peripheral device such as a printer connected through a communication network without changing a communication speed. <P>SOLUTION: A computer 11 or the like successively reads update data composing the array of unit data including object data and management data, successively connects the object data composing the unit data, composes new object data corresponding to the direct end batch writing data division (data sector for performing DMA transfer) of the storage part of the peripheral device (printer 13a1 or the like), composes new unit data by generating and adding new management data according to the new object data to the composed new object data, and transmits the array of the composed new unit data through the communication network to the peripheral device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
