ELECTRIC POWER STEERING CONTROL DEVICE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering control device capable of detecting abnormal sticking of an output value obtained from a torque sensor. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with: a means determining whether or not the output value obtained from the torque sensor 23 detecting steering torque applied to a steering shaft 21 shows the neutral position of a steering 1; a means determining whether or not a certain or larger steering torque is in a state where it develops, on the basis of information acquired from a steering angle sensor 22 detecting the steering angle of the steering 1; and a means determining that the torque sensor 23 is abnormal if determined that the certain or larger steering torque is in the state where it develops when the output value obtained from the torque sensor 23 shows the neutral position of the steering 1.
