PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment which enables to set equipment names easily even for network equipment without being equipped with any interfaces such as a display and a keyboard, and also to provide an equipment name setting method and a program of the network equipment. SOLUTION: The network equipment comprises: a name candidate storage section for storing a plurality of equipment name candidates to be set to the network equipment 2; an operation section 22 that has a plurality of physical states corresponding to the plurality of equipment name candidates and allows the physical states to change by manual operation; and a name setting means 51 for setting any equipment name from the plurality of equipment name candidates according to the physical state of the operation section 22.
