PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for molding an optical device, wherein the optical device is molded with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In the method of molding the optical device for press-molding an optical device material 14 by heating a molding block which has an upper mold 11, a lower mold 12 and a drum mold 13 and in which the optical device material 14 is housed, in a heating stage, a heating member 3a is brought into contact with the drum mold 13 with a certain space (a) from the upper mold 11 to heat the molding block 10, and then the upper mold 11 is pressed by a projecting part provided on a press member in a pressing stage.
