PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound useful as a medicine having a DPP-IV (dipeptidyl peptidase IV) inhibiting action, especially as a diabetes treating agent. SOLUTION: As a result of our earnest study on compounds having DPP-IV inhibiting actions, we have found out that compounds each having a nitrogen atom/β-amino acid bond, such as substituted diacylpiperazine derivatives and various bicyclic heterocylic compounds, such as dihydrotriazolopyrazine derivatives, dihydroimidazopyrazine derivatives, and tetrahydroimidazopyridine derivatives, or salts thereof have DPP-IV inhibiting actions.
