PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor driving device with a safety device in breaking, capable of reducing vibration of a drive chain by a simple structure without needing a considerable setting space just above a support lever or a layout change such as shifting from the setting position of a flywheel or other members of a driving machine. SOLUTION: A base end portion of the support lever 12 having a contact element 11 allowed to abut on the drive chain 5 at the tip thereof is connected with one end of a horizontal shaft member 15 rotatably supported by a bearing part 14 provided on a conveyor main frame 13. An engagement claw 16 is attached to the other end of the horizontal shaft member 15 to be suspended therefrom. The lower end of the engagement claw 15 is set so as to face a ratchet wheel 7. A steady brace member 17 is mounted on the bearing part 14 to which the base end part of the support lever 12 is attached. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
