<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of more improving the operability of the opening and closing operation of a unit and an opening and closing cover. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 has an image forming apparatus body 12 in which an image forming section 13 and a sheet conveying mechanism 15 are stored. A part of the image forming section 13 or the sheet conveying mechanism 15 constitutes the unit 45 openably and closably provided with respect to the image forming apparatus body 12. In addition, the image forming apparatus body 12 has: the opening and closing cover 17 which can be opened and closed with respect to the image forming apparatus body 12; a connection mechanism 140 connecting the unit 45 and the opening and closing cover 17; a connection releasing mechanism 142 releasing the connection of the unit 45 and the opening and closing cover 17 by the connection mechanism 140; an energizing mechanism 96 energizing the unit 45 in a closing direction; and the connection releasing mechanism 142 releasing the connection by the connection mechanism 140. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
