<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system or the like that safely authenticates a password by means of a password management device during a remote login from a terminal device to a server device. <P>SOLUTION: A password management device 103 for managing the user name and the direct login password of the server device 102 and conversion rules causes a display device 104 to display a symbol line for authentication. The user converts the symbol line using his own conversion rules and imparts the user name and the converted symbol line to the server device 102 via the terminal device 105. When the server device 102 sends the user name and the converted symbol line to the password management device 103, the password management device 103 sends the direct login password to the server device 102 if the result of application of the user's conversion rules to a previously generated symbol line for authentication matches the converted symbol line, so that the remote login from the terminal device 105 to the server device 102 is successful. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
