PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detection device capable of discriminating simply the gas kind even in the case of a device having a small heat capacity. SOLUTION: In a catalytic combustion type gas sensor, when catalytic combustion of detection object gas is generated and a temperature is changed, a resistance value is changed. A sawtooth wave driving circuit supplies a sawtooth-shaped pulsing voltage wherein a supply voltage is increased gradually during a prescribed time t2 from supply start and then becomes a constant value, to the catalytic combustion type gas sensor. A differential analysis part differentiates a sensor output during pulse voltage supply, and acquires a differential waveform.
