PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger provided with an auxiliary heat exchanger and a main heat exchanger and capable of improving efficiency in heat exchange. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger is provided with heat transfer tubes 2a-2f for flowing refrigerant therein, and diameter D<SB>1</SB>of each of the heat transfer tubes 2a, 2b of the auxiliary heat exchanger 10a is larger than diameter D<SB>2</SB>of each of the heat transfer tubes 2c-2f of the main heat exchanger 10b when using the heat exchanger as a condenser. The heat exchanger is further provided with a plurality of fins 1a coming into contact with the heat transfer tubes 2a, 2b and a plurality of fins 1b coming into contact with the heat transfer tubes 2c-2f. An interval E<SB>1</SB>between the fins 1a is larger than an interval E<SB>2</SB>between the fins 1b. The auxiliary heat exchanger 10a is in an excessively cooled region being the downstream side, mainly, in a region where refrigerant being a liquid flows when using the heat exchanger 1 as the condenser.
