The device has direction sensors to detect position of a directional assembly, and adapted to provide signal indicating whether a vehicle is directed towards left or towards right. An automatism adapted to permit displacement of the vehicle in one direction or another direction according to direction of the vehicle detected by the sensor. The authorized displacement brings back the vehicle in to a nominal position on a railway track during engagement and prohibits other displacement, when front and rear rail detector sensors (8, 9) are active.
