<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for processing an information achieving a sure data update preventing a data dissipation. <P>SOLUTION: In the update processing of data recorded to an information recording medium, a binding nonce applied to the cipher processing of a unit key file as a key file storing a cipher key corresponding to an enciphered contents is read from the information recording medium, and recorded to an external storage means being a non-volatile memory. In the update processing of data, the binding nonce is erased from the information recording medium, and a new updated binding nonce is generated and recorded to the information recording medium.
