PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens barrel that has a higher magnification in zooming and has a smaller size by inserting or removing at least one lens group in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis, the lens barrel being designed such that positional accuracy in the direction of the optical axis of the lens group inserted or removed and positional accuracy in the direction of the optical axes of other lens groups adjacent to that lens group are stabilized without increasing the number of components. SOLUTION: The zoom lens barrel includes: a first lens group 1 disposed on the subject side; a third lens group 3 disposed closer to the image forming face than the first lens group 1; a fourth lens group 4 disposed closer to the image forming face than the third lens group 3; and an insertion/removal mechanism that retracts the third lens group 3 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis in a non-photographing state. In the zoom lens barrel, a spring 18 attached to the third lens group 3 obliquely presses the third lens group 3 in a non-photographing state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
