PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus having a screen which can be viewed easily. SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus is equipped with: a display section 21 for displaying a measurement screen P; and a display control section for controlling the display section 21 to display the measurement screen P. The display control section controls the display section 21 to display the measurement screen P so as to rotate through a predetermined angle (e.g., 90 degrees), when a screen rotation indicating signal is output. Specifically, a first main body 2, a second main body 3 in which the display section 21 is disposed and which is rotatably connected to the first main body 2 through a hinge section 4, and a rotation detecting section which detects a rotation of the second main body 3 relative to the first main body 2 and outputs the screen rotation indicating signal, are disposed therefor. The display control section controls the display section 21 to display the measurement screen P so as to rotate through the predetermined angle, when the screen rotation indicating signal is output.
