PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to visually know a length and a position of a recoded section on the basis of the entire contents. SOLUTION: In response to a user instructing during a reproduction of a recorded program, a progress bar representing a measure of the program in accordance with the entire length is superimposed and displayed on a picture of the program. On a left end and right end of the progress bar, "10:00" representing a broadcasting start time of the program and "11:00" representing a broadcasting end time thereof are displayed, respectively. A section corresponding to a time zone from 10:15 to 10:45 as a section in which a recording has been performed, of the entire progress bar, is displayed in a different color from a section corresponding to a time zone from 10:00 to 10:15 and a section corresponding to a time zone from 10:45 to 11:00 which are sections in which a recording is not performed.
