PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform a device function modification. SOLUTION: A television 1 includes: a basic function execution unit 42 for executing a basic function program stored in a basic function program storage unit 29 and called from the control script; and a control script execution unit 41 for controlling the basic function execution unit 42 according to the control script to execute a first function for displaying an object and execute, as a second function, the operation of its device when the object is displayed by the first function. The control script further defines a redrawing area being an area of a display picture to be redrawn when the first or the second function is a modification accompanying function of modifying the display picture. The control script execution unit 41 when executing the modification accompanying function controls the basic function execution unit 42 according to the control script to redraw the redrawn area by specifying the redrawn area.
