PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device which can automatically select a video part surrounded with a frame part, and zoom the video part for display. SOLUTION: The video display device configured to select the frame part included in a received video and then zoom the selected video part at a display unit 8 is provided with an image conversion unit 7 and a control unit 10 detecting the rectangular frame part having a prescribed aspect ratio, determining whether the frame part is detected, and selecting the video part surrounded with the frame part when determined that the frame part is detected.
