PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that is reduced in frame area in the display device, where the image display area is a non-rectangular. SOLUTION: The display device includes a plurality of pixels arranged in an orthogonal matrix form; a plurality of scanning wiring lines connected to the plural pixels; a plurality of signal wiring lines connected to the plural pixels and disposed to construct an orthogonal matrix form with the plural scanning wiring lines; a pixel display area, including a plurality of pixels and having a non-rectangular outer contour; scanning wiring internal circuits for driving the plural scanning wiring lines and formed along the outer contour of the pixel display area; and signal wiring internal circuits for driving the plurality of signal wiring lines and formed along the outer contour of the pixel display area. The scanning wiring internal circuits and the signal wiring internal circuits are arranged, beginning at a start point, the start point being either of two contact points, selected from among contact points, between the outer contour of the pixel display area and a given rectangle circumscribing the outer contour, with the contact points being at mutually different edges of the given rectangle, and the two contact points giving a shortest distance therebetween along the outer contour of the pixel display area among other combinations of two contact points.
