PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic cooking device capable of heating and cooking vegetables and the like to be soft in a short time by propagating vibrational energy of ultrasonic wave to food without limiting used pans and containers. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic cooking device comprises a mist/steam generating means, and an ultrasonic vibrator 12 is operated after the lapse of a prescribed time from generation of mist or steam based on a signal from a control means 13, thus the ultrasonic vibrational energy is propagated to the food covered by mist, and ultrasonic vibration is acted on the food. As cooking can be performed by propagating the ultrasonic vibrational energy to the food itself by covering the food surface or its neighborhood by the mist or steam, special pans and containers are not necessary. Further humidification and drying according to cooking menus can be performed by controlling the supply of mist while encouraging softening of the food by action of ultrasonic wave.
