摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having high drain ability in a gas passage and high power generation performance; and to provide the surface treatment method of a diffusion layer. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell is equipped with an MEA 22 having an electrolyte membrane 23, a pair of catalyst layers 25 arranged on both sides of the electrolyte membrane 23, and a pair of diffusion layers 26 coming in contact with the contact surface with the electrolyte membrane 23 of the catalyst layer 25 and the opposite surface to the contact surface; and a separator 21 in which a gas passage 41 making flow reaction gas is formed on the surface of the diffusion layer 26, and the surface of the diffusion layer 26 facing at least the gas passage 41 is smoothed by pressing and rolling a roller having smooth rounding surface along the flow of reaction gas after coating of conductive paste. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
