PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a small and thin magnetic component inexpensively. SOLUTION: Slit-shaped grooves are provided in the front and back of a magnetic substrate and a through hole connecting the grooves in the front and back is provided, a first conductor is provided in the slit-shaped groove of a first major surface, a second conductor is provided in the slit-shaped groove of a second major surface, a connection conductor is provided in the through hole, and a coil conductor is formed of the first conductor, the second conductor and the connection conductor in a thin magnetic component. The manufacturing process of a thin magnetic component comprises a step for making slit-shaped grooves in the front and back of a green sheet containing magnetic powder and resin and boring a through hole connecting the grooves in the front and back, a step for firing the green sheet after boring/slit making step to obtain a magnetic substrate, and a step for providing first conductor in the slit-shaped groove of a first major surface, a second conductor in the slit-shaped groove of a second major surface, a connection conductor in the through hole of the magnetic substrate and forming a coil conductor of the first conductor, the second conductor and the connection conductor.
