PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical visible light and ultraviolet light magnetic circular dichroism measuring means which is accompanied with high space resolution and time resolution, and which can be realized simply, easily, and at a low cost. SOLUTION: This is the magnetic circular dichroism measuring method measuring photoelectric emission and obtaining observation data of a magnetic material testpiece by irradiating circular polarized light for excitation to a magnetic material testpiece. This is the magnetic circular dichroism measuring method in which the visible light and ultraviolet light are used as the circular polarized light for excitation and which adjusts so that the light energy is in the vicinity region of a work function of the magnetic material testpiece.
